Snake venom-inspired anti-wrinkle peptide. Temporarily relaxes facial muscles to smooth expression lines. Up to 52 percent wrinkle reduction in clinical studies.
How it works

Inspired by Temple Viper venom, it blocks the nerve-to-muscle signal at nicotinic receptors, relaxing facial muscles and softening wrinkles. Applied topically for a Botox-like effect without needles.

Skin & Beauty

What to Expect
Week 1–2 nAChR antagonism beginning; skin adjusting to peptide. Skin feels tighter where applied.
Week 3–4 Muscle contraction dampening; expression lines softening. Crow's feet and forehead lines visibly softening.
Week 5–8 Significant wrinkle reduction; up to 52% depth decrease. Significant wrinkle reduction; skin looks noticeably younger.
Week 9–12 Peak effect sustained; continued use maintains smooth skin. Deep wrinkles reduced up to 52%; smooth, firm skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is required to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides. It contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol which prevents bacterial growth, keeping your reconstituted peptide safe for multiple uses over up to 30 days.

Unreconstituted: store at -20°C (freezer) for long-term, or 2–8°C (fridge) for short-term. After reconstitution: always refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within 30 days. Keep away from direct sunlight.

Results vary by individual and protocol. In research settings, measurable effects are typically observed within 1–4 weeks depending on the specific peptide, dosage, and application. Consult a qualified professional for guidance.

Verified suppliers typically include a full third-party COA verifying purity (99%+), identity, and sterility. We recommend only sourcing from vendors that provide batch-specific testing data.

We list verified suppliers above that have been independently reviewed for product quality, testing transparency, and shipping reliability. Always verify COA data before sourcing.

Mechanism of Action Inspired by Temple Viper venom, it blocks the nerve-to-muscle signal at nicotinic receptors, relaxing facial muscles and softening wrinkles. Applied topically for a Botox-like effect without needles.
Research Overview SYN-AKE (dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate) is a synthetic tripeptide mimetic developed by DSM Nutritional Products (formerly Pentapharm) that was inspired by the paralytic mechanism of waglerin-1, a peptide component of the venom of the Temple Viper (Tropidolaemus wagleri) endemic to Southeast Asia. Waglerin-1 is a 22-amino-acid peptide that produces reversible muscular paralysis by competitively antagonizing the α1-subunit of post-synaptic muscular nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) at the neuromuscular junction, blocking the depolarization cascade required for muscle contraction. SYN-AKE was designed as a small, stable, synthetically accessible tripeptide mimetic that reproduces this nicotinic receptor antagonism in a format suitable for topical cosmetic application. Unlike Argireline and SNAP-8, which modulate the pre-synaptic side of neuromuscular transmission by interfering with neurotransmitter vesicle release (SNARE complex inhibition), SYN-AKE acts on the post-synaptic side by competitively occupying the acetylcholine binding sites on muscle nAChRs, preventing receptor activation by released acetylcholine. This post-synaptic mechanism is complementary to pre-synaptic approaches and provides the rationale for combining SYN-AKE with Argireline or SNAP-8 in multi-peptide anti-wrinkle formulations for additive or synergistic effects. In electromyographic studies using muscle cell models, SYN-AKE reduced the frequency of muscle cell contraction by approximately 82% at a concentration of 4 μM, demonstrating potent neuromuscular modulation. Clinical evaluation of a cream containing 4% SYN-AKE applied twice daily showed wrinkle depth reductions of 52% after 28 days as measured by PRIMOS three-dimensional optical skin surface analysis, with 82% of participants showing visible improvement. The compound has become one of the premium active ingredients in high-end anti-aging skincare, often marketed with the evocative "snake venom" branding.
